Rosemary Sexton, a native of Western North Carolina now divides her time between studios in Port Charlotte, Florida and Maggie Valley, NC. She is a full time artist pursuing her passion and enjoying every minute of the creative journey.

Rosemary finds all mediums fascinating but oil painting consumes most of her studio time. Her artwork is an expression of the joy she feels and the peace she finds in the simple beauty of life especially in the faces of the people she loves and the strangers she meets.

In a style she describes as “Romantic Realism” she attempts to follow romantic truth and not photographic realism. Rosemary explores the relationship of elements, quality of light and atmosphere, along with color harmonies to create a visual poetry that hopefully engages the viewer to participate in the magic created with brush and paint. Her paintings have garnered awards both nationally and regionally and may be found in collections throughout the southeastern U.S. and Canada.

Affiliations include Florida Watercolor Society, Charlotte County Art League, Venice Art Center, Naples Art Association, Art League of the Smokies, and the DeSoto County Art League.

Along with husband Frank, Rosemary enjoys time spent with their two children and their spouses and with their two grandsons. She feels truly blessed.
