Casey Williams Artist, Photographer
I was born in Kalamazoo MI, and moved to Pompano Beach, FL. when I was five. I lived and went to school there until I moved to Arcadia in 1999. I started artwork at a very young age. I painted murals by hand on my middle school walls when I was in 8th grade. I painted murals on the inner office walls of the Target Store in Deerfield Beach as a high schooler. As a high school senior in 1990, I participated in and won the Congressional Art Show for Broward County, E. Clay Shaw's district, which was held at the Ft Lauderdale Museum of Art.
Once I graduated HS, I was hired by the Baja Beach Club, Southbeach Miami location, to paint murals on their interior walls corresponding with the beach theme. These were ranging in size from 8 ft high x 20 feet wide to 20 feet high x 30 feet wide.
In my twenties, I'd often sit at the beach doing paintings plein air style. I also, and even more so, love doing pencil work and woodburning. I've drawn on or painted on everything from sawblades to swordfish bills, people and clothing.
I also had a natural interest in photography, and took a photo class in high school. I resumed this ambition in 2013, and decided to make the leap to photography professionally. I've taught myself Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop and have a wonderful time combining my fine art skills to compositing and creating photo-digital art pieces. My latest fine art venture has been drawing pet portraits in colored pencil.
